DAY 1: FES - MIDELT - ERFOUD - MERZOUGA AND ERG CHEBBI DESERT

Fes to desert and Marrakech private tour Starting today, we will embark from your accommodation at 8.30 a.m., heading towards Ifrane, via hills covered in forests of cork oak and gigantic cedar, home to a few Barbary apes. We'll get our first look of the south's amazing architecture when we cross the Middle and High Atlas peaks. After lunch in Midelt, we will descend into a desert plain along the Ziz valley before continuing south via Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga to check into a local riad.

DAY 2: CAMEL RIDE IN ERG CHEBBI AND MERZOUGA EXCURSION

Today, after breakfast, we take a tour of the dunes via Merzouga, the nomadic depository, Khamlia village to visit the Gnawa's village, originally slaves brought from darker-skinned Africa, to listen to their spiritual music, and then continue to meet desert nomads in their tents and discover a new way of life. You'll leave for Rissani not far from Merzouga Lake, which is famous for its bird population. This was the rendezvous point for salt caravans traveling from Timbuktu, Mali. We'll go through the souk before returning to Merzouga for a one-and-a-half-hour camel trek to a Berber tent in the center of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Three nice Berber tents make up the camp. Dinner is followed by a traditional music display, and the night is spent in a nomad camp in tents.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA - RISSANI - TODRA VALLEY -  DADES GORGES :

Our camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to witness the most spectacular sunrise. After breakfast at the riad, we'll depart for Rissani, Tinghir, and finally the Todra gorges, Morocco's highest and narrowest canyons. We'll drive to the Dades Valley after lunch, where you'll view gorgeous sand castles and fascinating rock formations known as "monkey toes." Overnight lodging will be in a hotel.

DAY 4: DADÈS GORGES - AIT BENHADDOU - MARRAKECH:

After breakfast on the last day, our Fes desert trip continues via the towns of this picturesque area, through fields maintained by Berber women, with the peaks of the High Atlas as a perfect background. Our drive will then take us through the Valley of the Roses, famed for its May Rose Festival, and via the Kasbahs of Skoura oasis. Then we travel to Ouarzazate, Morocco's Hollywood, where we will see the cinematographic museum and Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a World Heritage site and the setting for numerous Hollywood films; this is Morocco's most renowned kasbah. From here, we will traverse the Tizi n'Tichka and arrive in Marrakech.
